OUR STORY

The Southwest Iowa Golf Foundation was established by visionary founders Dan Cox and Eleanor Shirley, who recognized the importance of supporting the region's golf courses and created a foundation to do just that. With a mission to promote and support golf throughout Southwest Iowa, the foundation aims to help all local golf courses thrive, aid in youth golf development and accessibility. Cox and Shirley were joined by a team of dedicated individuals, including Ed Bonefas, Jim Cloepfil, Kurt Henstorf, Chelsey Juarez, Amy Nielsen, Liz Skillern, and Jay Soderberg, who shared their passion for golf and community development. Together, this group of enthusiastic supporters worked to build a foundation that would have a lasting impact on the region's golf community. Through their collective efforts, the Southwest Iowa Golf Foundation was able to lay the groundwork for a bright future for golf in the area.
